What is Advocacy?

Advocacy

Advocacy is the public support or opposition of a cause or proposal. Anyone can advocate for issues important to them.

Advocates can mobilize communities to rally for a specific cause, share research on the impact of a proposal, educate colleagues on strategies for public charge, host educational conferences to discuss issues and strategies affecting populations served, or encourage people to vote.

In this toolkit, we focus on elevating your support of issues through advocacy visits, social media advocacy, and site visits.
